Wenn man sowieso eine Uhr trägt, sind GPS-Uhren super praktisch. Ein schneller Blick aufs Handgelenk und schon hat man die richtige Entfernung zum Grün. Für den Einstieg sind sie super, haben aber einige Vor- und Nachteile.
Neuere Geräte zeigen einem nicht nur die Grüns an, sondern auch Hindernisse wie Wasser oder Bunker. Das ist gerade für die Spielstrategie sehr wichtig, um zum Beispiel den richtigen Schläger für den Abschlag auszuwählen, um kein Hindernis in der Landezone zu haben.
Fast alle Modelle haben einen manuellen Entfernungsmesser verbaut, den man am Abschlag aktivieren kann und der einem dann am Ball anzeigt, wie weit man geschlagen hat. So bekommt man ein gutes Gefühl für die eigenen Längen.
Nachteil bei der GPS-Uhr sind, das lediglich die Grüns angezeigt werden, aber nicht die exakte Fahnenposition. Zudem ist man darauf angewiesen, dass der Platz auch vermessen wurde und die Vermessung auch aktuell ist. Auch lassen sich die eigenen Schlaglängen nur auf dem Platz messen, da man ja ungern auf der Range bis zu seinem geschlagenen Ball laufen möchte.
Der Laser-Entfernungsmesser
Mit dem Laser lassen sich leicht alle Hindernisse und Gegenstände auf dem Platz ausmessen. Ja, sogar der Flight vor einem auf der Bahn kann gelasert werden. Der Golflaser kostet in der Regel ein wenig mehr, als eine Uhr und das Vermessen dauert länger, aber dafür bekommt man exakte Werte angezeigt.
Denn im Gegensatz zur GPS-Uhr kann der Laser die Entfernung bis zur Fahne anzeigen und nicht nur bis zum Grün. Man ist nicht darauf angewiesen, dass der Platz vermessen wurde und sämtliche Hindernisse eingetragen sind, sondern man kann wirklich alles selbst anvisieren und ausmessen.
Auch auf der Range kann man wunderbar Ziele ausmessen und so die eigenen Schlaglängen kontrollieren. Das ist ein ganz klares Plus gegenüber den GPS-Entfernungsmessern.
