Kennengelernt habe ich die Clubfactory und ihre Edelmetall-Schläger auf der Rheingolf in Düsseldorf. Was soll ich sagen, ich war vom ersten Blick an von den Schlägern begeistert. Schon rein optisch trafen sie genau meinen Geschmack. Schlichte Bladeoptik, klare Linien und einfach edel.
Ich habe mich dann ein wenig mehr mit dem Konzept hinter Edelmetall beschäftigt und wusste sofort, die Jungs muss ich mal besuchen und vor allem euch vorstellen:
Zuhause ist die Clubfactory bei der Golf-Lounge in Hamburg. In einer kleinen aber feinen Werkstatt findet man alles was das Golferherz höher schlagen lässt. Eine zweite Werkstatt mit kompletter Ausrüstung, befindet sich in einem Sprinter und kann damit quer durch die Republik fahren.
Ich darf heute Tim, Fitter bei der Clubfactory und selber ein sehr guter Spieler mit Trainerlizenz, bei zwei Fittings begleiten. Denn Edelmetall-Schläger gibt es nämlich nicht von der Stange. Die Devise ist, dass sich der Spieler nicht an die Schläger anpassen muss, sondern dass die Schläger individuell für den Spieler angepasst werden. Dazu zählen Griffe, Schaft und eben auch der Schlägerkopf inkl. Gewichtung und Balance.
Zum ersten Fitting bringt ein junger Mann seinen Trainer mit. Mit aktuell HCP 18 hat er sich in dieser Saison das Ziel gesetzt, Singlehandicaper zu werden. Aktuell spielt er „Männerschläger“ wie er selber sagt. Schwere Bladeköpfe und steife Schäfte. „Ich mag schwere Schlägerköpfe“ war die Ansage. Das sollte sich bald ändern… aber dazu später mehr. Tim nimmt erstmal ein paar Daten vom Spieler auf und vermisst die alten Schläger. Anschließend werden ein paar Bälle zum Warmmachen geschlagen. Der Pro achtet darauf, dass die Schwünge ordentlich ausgeführt werden.
Warmgespielt, schmeißt Tim das FlightScope an, und nimmt einige Werte der alten Schläger auf. Anschließend wird in Windeseile ein Edelmetall zusammengesetzt.
Über 600 Tester stehen zur Verfügung und so ist die passende Kombi samt Griff schnell zusammengebaut.
„Wie fühlt er sich an?“ Skeptische Blicke. „Ein bisschen leicht“. Aber nach ein paar Schlägen ist klar, die Bälle fliegen deutlich konstanter, als mit dem alten Satz. Tim platziert hier und da einige magnetische Gewichte am Schlägerkopf, um die perfekte Balance zu finden. Selbst der Pro ist begeistert über die Flugkurven.
Tim erklärt, dass es sich bei dem Schlägerkopf um ein Blade handelt, in dem noch ein Hohlraum verbaut ist. So wird es deutlich fehlerverzeihender als ein Vollblade.
Der junge Mann ist begeistert und lässt sich nun erstmal ein Angebot zusenden. Denn die Qualität von Edelmetall hat natürlich auch ihren Preis.
In der kurzen Pause bis zum nächsten Fitting, kann ich es mir nicht nehmen lassen und will auch unbedingt ein paar Bälle schlagen. Tim hat wieder ruck zuck einen passenden Schläger für mich zusammengesetzt. Griffstärke und Griffgefühl nach Wunsch, passender Schaft und die Blades von gerade. Auch mein erstes Gefühl ist „fühlt sich irgendwie zu leicht an“. Aber nach einigen Bällen und hier und da ein paar Gewichte für die Balance, flogen die Bälle dorthin, wo ich sie hinhaben möchte. Ich habe das Gefühl, ich kann mit dem Schläger kontrollieren, wo der Ball hin soll. Und ob gerade, Draw oder Fade, es läuft!
„Schweren Köpfen muss man mehr aufzwingen, wo sie hinsollen“ erklärt Tim. Leichte Köpfe folgen den Bewegungen viel besser und lassen sich besser kontrollieren.
Ich bin dann schon neidisch, als der nächste Kunde zum Fitting kommt und sich praktisch nur noch für die richtige Kombination entscheiden „muss“.
Alles in allem bin ich vom Konzept hinter Edelmetall begeistert! Wirklich schöne und edle Schlägerköpfe werden perfekt auf den Golfer angepasst, die Beratung und das Fitting werden von sehr kompetenten und supernetten Menschen durchgeführt.
