Schon auf dem Übungsgrün durfte ich dann den CW-14 testen und konnte direkt die größten Unterschiede zu anderen Puttern feststellen. Die Schlagfläche ist sehr breit. Laut Webseite sogar ca. 50% breiter als bei üblichen Puttern und mit 650gr Kopfgewicht auch ziemlich schwer. Und dank Centerschaft und Jumbogriff, liegt er gut und der Hand und pendelt sauber durch.

Marcus erklärt mir, dass es das Ziel in der Entwicklung des Putters war, das man sich nicht groß an den Putter anpassen muss. Sondern das man seinen eigenen Schwungrhytmus beibehalten können sollte. Scheint so, als würde es tatsächlich funktionieren!

Und ab ging es auf den Platz! Durch ein glückliches Händchen mit meinen Eisen, hatte ich dann auch tatsächlich die Möglichkeit, Par- und Birdieputts mit dem CW-14 von Straighter Putter zu machen. Durch die breite Schlagfläche läßt sich der Putter gefühlt sehr gut aufs Loch ausrichten. Das gibt mir schonmal Sicherheit und Vertrauen in den Putter. Dann wie gewohnt putten, den Schläger pendeln lassen und zack, war der Ball im Loch. Auf der 2 dann sogar zum Birdie 🙂

Marcus erzählt mir, das er auch Puttseminar im Bonner Raum anbietet. Da werde ich natürlich hellhörig und beäuge insgeheim und ohne böse Hintergedanken jeden Putt von ihm. Es ist sicherlich Geschmacks- und Gefühlssache, ob man schwere Putter oder die breite Optik mag, aber ich kann wirklich allen nur empfehlen, den CW-14 einfach mal zur Probe zu spielen!
