Ich hatte die Tage das Vergnügen, mit Marcus von Straighter Putter eine Runde über meine Heimatweise drehen zu dürfen. Bei neuen Putterfirmen und Puttern fragt man sich immer, wieso sollte gerade dieser Putter jetzt besser sein, als die anderen Putter? Sein wir mal ehrlich, mehr gelochte Putts verspricht doch eigentlich jeder Putterhersteller. Ich war dennoch sehr neugierig und freute mich auf die Runde mit Marcus.
Schon auf dem Übungsgrün durfte ich dann den CW-14 testen und konnte direkt die größten Unterschiede zu anderen Puttern feststellen. Die Schlagfläche ist sehr breit. Laut Webseite sogar ca. 50% breiter als bei üblichen Puttern und mit 650gr Kopfgewicht auch ziemlich schwer. Marcus erzählt, dass die erste Frage oft lautet „welchen Nagel soll man denn damit in die Wand hämmern?“. Aber grundsätzlich mag ich schonmal schwerere Putterköpfe. Und dank Centerschaft und Jumbogriff, liegt er gut und der Hand und pendelt sauber durch.
Ich habe in meinem Spint auch einen schweren Putter, den Odyssee Tank 7. Kurze Putts laufen super sauber und gerade, ohne verziehen. Aber ich habe damit immer Probleme bei der Längenkontrolle. Daher liegt mein Augenmerk bei den ersten Probeputts genau darauf. Und erstaunlicherweise habe ich beim CW-14 damit erstmal keine großen Schwierigkeiten. Marcus erklärt mir, dass es das Ziel in der Entwicklung des Putters war, das man sich nicht groß an den Putter anpassen muss. Sondern das man seinen eigenen Schwungrhytmus beibehalten können sollte. Scheint so, als würde es tatsächlich funktionieren!
Und ab ging es auf den Platz! Durch ein glückliches Händchen mit meinen Eisen, hatte ich dann auch tatsächlich die Möglichkeit, Par- und Birdieputts mit dem CW-14 von Straighter Putter zu machen. Durch die breite Schlagfläche läßt sich der Putter gefühlt sehr gut aufs Loch ausrichten. Das gibt mir schonmal Sicherheit und Vertrauen in den Putter. Dann wie gewohnt putten, den Schläger pendeln lassen und zack, war der Ball im Loch. Auf der 2 dann sogar zum Birdie 🙂
Marcus erzählt mir, das er auch Puttseminar im Bonner Raum anbietet. Da werde ich natürlich hellhörig und beäuge insgeheim und ohne böse Hintergedanken jeden Putt von ihm. Was soll ich sagen… er hat echt Mega-Putts gelocht, keine Ausreißer, sehr solide und vor allem sehr sympathisch! Ein Puttseminar bei ihm ist für mich im kommenden Frühjahr schon fest eingeplant 🙂
Es ist sicherlich Geschmacks- und Gefühlssache, ob man schwere Putter oder die breite Optik mag, aber ich kann wirklich allen nur empfehlen, den CW-14 einfach mal zur Probe zu spielen! Ich mag den Putter und bin sehr gespannt auf das Puttseminar bei Marcus! Und über ein Like auf seiner Facebook-Seite freut sich Marcus ganrantiert auch sehr. Also los 🙂

Oh ja! Durch das hohe Gewicht pendelt der Putter sehr stabil. Gibt mir persönlich ein sicheres Gefühl bei Putts.
Muss man einfach mal testen, ob einem das liegt oder nicht.
