Ich springe heute mal kurz in die Gegenwart, um von meinen Erlebnissen beim Schlägerkaufen zu sprechen. Oder besser gesagt, beim Versuch des Schlägerkaufs. Kurz nach meiner Platzreife habe ich mir einen günstigen Einsteigersatz im Internet gekauft. Ich dachte, wenn der Ball nicht fliegt, wirds anfangs garantiert nicht am Schläger liegen. Daher kann ich auch gleich nen günstigen Schläger in die Ecke feuern, anstatt direkt teure Schläger im See zu versenken.

Es wurde dann ein Einsteigersatz von Wilson Pro Staff LCG. LGC steht übrigens für Low Cavity Back (laut Google: „niedrigen Hohlraum zurück“). Kein Plan was es bedeutet, aber klang grossartig! Die Schläger haben einen leichten Graphitschaft und spielen sich eigentlich sehr schön. Immerhin hab ichs mit dem Satz von 54 auf 21,9 gebracht. Aber irgendwie hat mich dann doch mal interessiert wie sich andere Schläger spielen. Bin ja bis dahin monogam geblieben.

Ich also vor ein paar Wochen in den nächstbesten Golfladen und sagen dem freundlichen Verkäufer „Guten Tag, ich interessiere mich für einen Eisensatz und wollte mich mal informieren, was es denn so schönes gibt“ „Sehr gern. Wie ambitioniert spielen Sie denn? Bzw. wie ist ihr derzeitiges Handicap?“ Ich.. mit zugegeben etwas Stolz: „Ich spiele jetzt ein knappes Jahr und hab Handicap 21,9“ .. mag sein, das ich vielleicht noch ein bissl dabei gegrinst hab (is mir so rausgerutscht). „21,9? Mhm.. bis 18 kommt doch jeder. Das heißt garnix.“ .. wumms. Okay, kleiner Dämpfer. Aber davon lasse ich mich nicht abschrecken. Ich dachte mir, lass den großen Hund mal sein Revier markieren und Spiel das Spielchen mit. Er wieder: „Wie weit schlägste denn die 7?“ „Schätzungsweise 130 Meter? Ich habs nie abgemessen“ „130 Meter. Mhm… klingt nach regular flex. Was sagt dein Trainer?“ „Guten Tag sagt er. So echte Trainerstunden hatte ich bis heute noch nicht.“ „Keine Trainerstunde? Oh oh. Ok das will ich sehen. Mach mal nen Schwung“ Ich also alles gegeben und versucht meinen schönsten Schwung auszupacken.

„Ok. Ich verstehe. Also ich würde sagen, bevor du an neue Schläger denkst, nimm erstmal Trainerstunden. Das hat sonst keinen Zweck!“ Wumms. Der hat gesessen. Im ersten Moment fühlt sich so ein Satz echt nicht gut an. Aber im Endeffekt fand ichs dann doch gut, das er das gesagt hat. Ehrlich, direkt und schonungslos.

Ich also losgestiefelt und ne Trainerstunde genommen. Und siehe da, Schwung leicht umgebaut und dat 7er fliegt 150 Meter!

So, zurück zum heutigen Besuch eines weiteren Golfladens: Nochmal mein Glück versucht und um Beratung gebeten. Schon witzig gegen nen Simulator zu ballern und die ältere Dame in der pinken Bekleidungsabteilung erschrocken „Huuuch!“ jauchzen zu hören als es durchs Geschäft schäpperte 🙂 Sowas brauch ich für Zuhause!

Auf alle Fälle weiß ich jetzt, das ich nicht der softe Typ bin. Mit weichen Graphitschäften fliegen meine Bälle steil gen Himmel und genug Geschwindigkeit für nen Stahlschaft hab ich auch. Super… ich bin der Stahltyp 🙂

Dann wollen wir doch demnächst mal mit zwei drei Demoschlägern auf die Range gehen und vielleicht bin ich bald glücklicher Besitzer neuer Stahlschaft-Schläger. Metal hab ich schon immer gemocht!
